The NEXT project (http://next.fatronik.com) has 5 areas:
- Environmentally-friendly machines: The aim is to build machines that are environmentally-friendly throughout their entire life cycle.
- Automatic machines designed with the user in mind: The aim is to build machines that help the operator carry out his or her tasks.
- The frontiers of manufacturing: High performance equipment. The aim is to multiply machine productivity by a factor of 5.
- New business concepts for machinery: Machine tool users are demanding an increasingly more comprehensive machine life cycle service from their suppliers.
- New training contents on production equipment: The project´s dissemination activities will be oriented towards both academic and vocational training.
